Just returned from a fantastic cruise down the Amazon on Fred Olsens Braemar. This is the forth time we have cruised on the Braemar, but the first since the extension/refurbishment. I must say that the ship is much improved with better facilities.
The cruise itself was a fantastic experience, sailing down the worlds biggest river is an experience we will not forget.
The food was great in all restraints, we ate mainly in the Thistle restraint, the waiters we all very good even when it got busy. Drinks on board were all reasonably priced (not like other cruise ships I could mention)
The ship is in very good condition, improved from our last cruise 4 years ago.
Most of the entertainment was of a good standard, we found the Neptune lounge to be a little cramped and uncomfortable, seems to be quite badly designed for entertainment purposes.
Cabins clean and comfortable, plenty of hot water always.
Would recommend the Braemar to people who like a relaxing cruise, not suitable for children (not many facilities for children)
Will defiantly travel with Fred Olsen again.
