This was the second time that I have been on a cruise. Last year I went to the Baltic and St Petersburg in the Boudicca and had a fantastic time and enjoyed the companionship of the people I met. I enjoyed it so much that I made another booking this year for a weeks cruise to the Norwegian Fjiords in the same ship. The service in the ship, the food and the entertainment were excellent and I really enjoyed the break. The fjiords were nowhere near as interesting and exciting as the Baltic Capitals. The tours were expensive - but that is Norwegian prices - and apart from the mountain scenery which was really wonderful - there was not much to see. Drinking and eating ashore was expensive and there was not much worth buying as prices were very high. The best buy was knitwear but it was very expensive. One of the best things about a cruise is the chance to meet people, and the best place for this is at the table. Last year I was a table for eight and without exception we all had similar interests and got on. This year I was at a table for six and we just did not gel together - but that is the luck of the draw.
I originally bookd direct with Fred Olsen but but was lucky enough to find that by shifting the booking to Cruise Co the fringe benefits were better, a £50 onboard spend and a better discount. Janice at Cruise Co was most helpful.

Just got back from this same cruise... The North Sea crossing was no problem at all, there or back. Smooth sailing from the refrubushed stabilisiers on the ship probably helped! My review follows on another thread.
