We loved the whole experience - the staff were helpful and friendly. The choice and quality of food was extremely good. Our cabin was very clean and comfortable. The entertainment was good although we would have liked the lido disco to have started a bit earlier in the evening! The excursions we went on were generally very good and well organised but the Ghent one was rather rushed due to the bad weather which had delayed the ship arriving in port. The Black Watch is a nice sized ship - not too big or impersonal but roomy enough to offer plenty of choice as to bars, lounges and activities. We liked the spacious gym which we used every day. You can work off the excess calories while gazing out to sea. Overall, as first time cruisers, we were very impressed by Fred Olsen and would definitely come back.
