3rd time on queen Vic and the best yet.
Quite honestly could not find fault. The ship was very well managed by the first lady captain, Captain Olsen. We had three incidents (two ill passengers who had to be taken off, one by helicopter and one by launch) also a minor fire in the air con system, a bit of smoke everywhere but it was soon dealt with. On each occasion the captain kept us fully informed, which was very welcome.
Some people had raised concerns that the quality and portion size had dropped in the Brittania restuarent.Well I suppose it all depends on what you were expecting, all I can say we were happy about it. The Lido self service restuarent was frenetic at peak times but tables were always available, and tables were cleared promptly
We went on several organised trips, and unlike another reviewer we thought Sicily was great, both Palermo and Messina were surrounded by lovely countryside, and our guides were friendly and informative. Must mention the Central Market in Valencia. Situated in a fabulous building, the market is huge, and the displays of food are incredible.
The guest speakers were first rate. Lord Digby-Jones in particular gave us a
witty, informative insight on the current political and financial climate, and was so refreshingly honest. There was also a very amusing gentleman who was a joke writer for many of the famous comedians, and told us lots of stories about them. Very amusing. The onboard entertainers were very good, comedian Adrian Walsh in particular kept us all amused. The Queens room is great for dancing, and the theatre is ideal for the shows, plently of seating and good views(only a few pillars). If you have cruised before recently unfortunately you will see the same production shows which is a bit tedious.
There is so much to occupy you onboard I defy anyone to get bored.
If you have thought about a first trip in this ship I would highly recommend.
