My husband and I have just returned from a fabulous cruise around the British Isles on the Queen Victoria. We didn't know that this trip was to celebrate Cunards 170th Birthday and all the ports of call reflected this. The visit by the Dutchess of Cornwall in Liverpool, a fantastic firework display, a visit by the Halle Ochestra accompanied by Natasha Marsh and Jon Christos was also a wonderful surprise. The ports of call were Cherburgh, Cobh (Southern Ireland) Dublin, Liverpool, Belfast, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
All the staff and waiters were so obliging and friendly and nothing was to much trouble. We met up with some lovely people on our dinner table which seated 6 and was situated on the upper floor by a window. Our steward Luis was amazing and nothing was to much trouble.
We cannot fault the cruise in any way, our accomodation was an inside cabin on deck one mid ships. Perfect position, biggest cabin we have ever had and we have cruised many times with other companies, all of the public rooms were on deck two and three so we could walk the stairs but did take the lift to the Lido restaurant and decks
The dress code is quite strict but I enjoyed dressing up a bit in the evenings, jeans and shorts were not acceptable as casual wear, and shorts were not allowed in the restaurants or afternoon Tea. I agreed with this as it made the ship more refined & classy, if you dont want this formality then dont choose Cunard. We will definately cruise with Cunard again and We give the British Isles cruise a massive 5plus stars. Two satisfied cruisers Susan & John Fisk from Norwich Norfolk UK
Quality of Food5
We ate in the restaurant in the evenings, one evening meal was in the alternative dining experience which was either an Italian night or an Indian Night. We chose the Indian. Breakfast was in the restaurant and twice in the Lido
Entertainment5
We enjoyed all the shows, the dancers were very proffessional, and the juggler hilarious. The only show we didnt enjoy was the Irish comedian

Onboard Activities3
Plenty on board to keep me happy but for some may be limited. Queen Victoria does not have pool games , bingo etc

We had an inside cabin which was very large and the biggest we have ever had.

I was on the QV Canaries in May and there was regular Bingo in the Queens Room, with dollars as prizes. I witnessed a $200 win and a $50 win in only a few minutes. But perhaps there's regulations about gambling and it can only be done at sea or something. Regarding playing 'pool', erm...a clue might be in the fact that its a ship that goes on the sea and there may be waves that make it rock a bit! Its sounds like the round Britain cruise was a success, I don't think I've read a poor review at all.
