We have recently returned from a fab cruise to the Baltics on Queen Victoria 19 June to 1 July.
The itinerary was perfect for getting a flavour of those cities you might want to return to for a longer stay.
It is our first trip on QV and well appointed she is too! We were allocated a stateroom on Deck 1 which was vey convenient for us. And at least gave us the opportunity to walk up to the Lido on deck 9 for breakfast each morning - 128 steps!

Things I liked about the ship: The unfailingly polite staff; lovely food both in the main Britannia restaurant and Lido Buffet; our stateroom was a good size with ample storage space and kept spotless by our attendant Larry; there were interesting lectures which we attended that we would normally not go to for example one on Rolf Harris (really interesting) and the Cunard Insight lectures; and there were many classes to improve computer skills.

The downsides for us: I thought the ship was weighted towards early risers - for example the port presentations were at 10am; any free gym classes were 7.30 or 8am; and interesting classes such as introduction to foil fencing at 9am;

The only little gripe I have is the cost of the wine which was quite alot more expensive than I remember it being on QE2 (even allowing for inflation etc) and Celebrity and there were no aerobic or step classes at the gym (they had spinning, yoga and pilates at $12 ++ a go- these were free on Celebrity when we travelled 2 years ago).

We have asked the ship whether they could think about providing some alternative tours such as bicycle sightseeing tours as there are many active passengers. They said nobody had ever asked before so if it interests you, please do ask and they might do something about it.

But we got the cruise at a good price and overall we had a brilliant time! Can't wait to go on another cruise...

Quality of Food

The band Nexus were really good as was the pianist/singer Paul Madden in the Commodore Club. We probably went to about half of the evening shows. The comedians were good but many of the musical ones just weren't to my taste.
