Cruise Line: Cunard Cruises Times cruised before: 10+
Cruise Ship: Queen Mary 2 Sailed: January, 2012
Destination: Transatlantic Age: 65+
Cabin: Inside Occasion: Getting to a destination
We sailed from Southampton on QM2 on the first leg of her World cruise to Cape Town. We have sailed on this ship on two other occasions and with Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth (and previously the lovely QM2). As usual we found nothing to complain about the cruise. The food was delicious - with fillet steaks that melt in your mouth to delicious fish to sensational deserts.
The entertainment on the QM2 was the best i have seen at sea; we had wonderful dancing and singers performing their shows and great entertainers and singers brought on board.
Our cabin, which was an inside, had plenty enough room for our 3 large cases. The first cabin was under the gym which woke us up in the morning but thanks to a lovely purser named Deborough we were changed to another cabin which was much quieter.
The internet use was dreadful - it took so long to get on line and ofter lost your information after compiling an e.mail that we used all our free minutes up in a few days.
All in all, wonderful - we shall return.

With respect, you complained to Cunard that you had a noisy cabin and you complained to us that the internet was unsatisfactory so you cannot truthfully say that you found nothing to complain about. I am pleased that you enjoy the Cunard experience - personally I have found other cruise lines that outshine the mediocre service that I have experienced with Cunard.

Yes, i had a noisy cabin but it was rectified immediately so i cannot complain about that. Yes, i agree the internet was a problem but had the most wonderful cruise so this pales into insignificance. But you are correct that i found that to be a problem so 99% not 100%. I have never found the service mediocre but everyone has their own opinions and experiences. I am sorry that yours was not so good and wish you enjoy any further cruises. Best Wishes

What a great attitude. So many folk let some minor events cloud their view but, as you say, given the broader picture you did just what you wanted and had a most enjoyable cruise. I do not know fully the reasons but I disembarked the day you sailed and the internet service for the previous 29 days was excellent. I very rarely use the ships computers preferring to use my laptop.

Richard a lap-top seems to be the answer, one which I don't have but I must totally agree with Mr.Hartley, as I mentioned in my review at the time the Computers were a nightmare to log on unless at 1-2am but to be fair they always re-imbursed me the free time I get with my card. As I suggested the server may need upgrading. But we had a marvellous time. As we both agree, in any experience things can go wrong but they can be rectified with the right attitude. You certainly don't let them spoil the cruise.

Hello from the QM2 World cruise. Day 49 and we are heading towards Fremantle for the second time this cruise. Very windy, but we have good Internet connection today hence my posting. I have to say we did have Internet problems onboard for quite a few days. Crossing the Indian Ocean was very windy as it is today so maybe this was a problem to the satallite system. We were not able to get online very often , but it did not matter as nothing was so important that we needed to be sending messages to anyone. So this was not going to spoil our time here onboard this wonderful liner. Still enjoyng the world cruise and looking forward to the rest of the voyage. Regards Maggie on QM2.
