At the end of October (23rd - 30th) my daughter and myself sailed home from New York on the QM2. Having sailed once before on the QM2 in 2006 I was rather cautious as there had been many failings during that Caribbean cruise. This time all went well and the boarding procedure this time was quite swift and smooth. My only complaint was that we didn't receive any labels for the suitcases and had to print our own on line which were quite flimsy and looked pretty tatty considering the standard and reputation of Cunard. We also didn't receive any cruise information apart from a confirmation letter and therefore unaware that almost every night would be a formal evening. The food was excellent and the shows were varied and entertaining catering for all ages and tastes. Would have liked to have watched better well known singers and maybe the occasional comedian would have been nice. Overall we had an enjoyable cruise and were able to take advantage of all the facilities on board and arrived in Southampton quite relaxed after the hustle and bustle of New York. My daughter whose 30th Birthday we were celebrating enjoyed it just as much as the older people and was pleasantly amused when sat in the cinema along with everyone else dressed in formal evening wear watching a Harry Potter film wearing 3D glasses!
