We joined the QM2 in Dubai on the final leg of the World Cruise we are new to cruising only having been on the QE2 for a Med cruise in May 2008. We weren't sure what to expect of this huge ship as we walked up the ramp in the heat of Dubai. The walk ways leading to the Lobby areas are very impressive, with its glass lift leading off the Lobby it still felt special 18 days later. Our cabin was very clean and nicely fitted out although a bit smaller than we had hoped for. We dined in the Britiana dining room on a table of ten, six Austrlians and another English couple. The dining was the highlight of the holiday geat food, good service in a lovely restaurant, and great company, sometimes we were the last to leave. We went to a few shows in the theatre which were good others not quite so good. Plenty to do on sea days in fact so much it was hard to fit it all in. The only down side of the cruise were the tours, ie Cairo very disapointing trip and especially the food provided, Rome we were told we were eating in a top hotel only to find ourselves in a resturant being served potatoes peas and veal, not very Itilian i thought. All in all it was a great success will definatley be cruising again next year.
