having received your 2010/11 brochure today 28/2/2010.i was suprised to see the marco polo high up in the ratings with regard to best food and service ,we must have been on the wrong ship, the food was and the service was terrible, the ship was being cleaned constantly. Richard sykes, the entertainment director and team where 1st class.cabins where comfortable. to go back to the service at lunch one day my wife asked the waitress for a sauce she had the reply of and i qoute ive only one pair of hands.whilst we understand the pressure staff are under we didnt expect that sort of answer.Service in bars again 1st class staff where on you as soon as the glass was empty.Crew members ie supervisors-officer would also smoke in the public areas ie in smoking bar and on deck whilst i have nothing against smoking being one myself it didnt look very professional whilst they were in uniform.apart from those blips the weather was good overall the cruise and destination was very good.to close we were on this ship 2 weeks before it got the stomach and was stuck in scotland...
