In July we enjoyed a 12day Baltic cruise on the Marco Polo. Richard Sykes, the Cruise Director, had an enthusiasm that was infectious and the staff, apart from surley receptionists, were very friendly and helpful. The ship was clean and very pleasant but the pool was disappointing. We had a wide range of entertainments - probably the deck disco's were the best! Good range of catering and facilities. Some cruises are to depart from Hull,Newcastle, Liverpool next year which will be great for us notherners. I'd recommend a cruise for adults but I think that cruising would not be suitable for children under about 13 years as the place would be too limiting.
Quality of Food4
Ate a wide range. Good selection
Entertainment4
Some of the female caberet singers were a disappointment but generally it was very good.
Shore Excursions4
Best was St. Petersburg then Stockholme, enjoyed them all apart from Copenhagen which was a disappointment.
Staff4
Most of the staff were very friendly - a family atmosphere. Richard Sykes, the Cruise Director, did well to create a happy atmosphere. Only problem area were the receptionists who seemed to be bored and were not very helpful.
Children's Facilitiesn/a
Don't have any children so cannot really say but I think some 'Adults Only' cruises would prove popular.
Onboard Activities3
Yes a wide choice but I think some talks about the places we were to visit would have been interesting eg culture and lifestyle in St. Petersburg.
Cabins4
Yes, very good. Clean and plenty of wardrobe, drawer space.
