I too, cruised onboard this ship at the end of May with my family and whilst I agree that the Italians were by far the majority, I cannot commend the cruise staff enough for being able to say all they need to in five different languages in double quick time!! Yes it was sometimes tiresome, but it was to be expected and in no way spoilt our holiday. The ports were amazing and having worked on cruise ships in my youth, I was pleasantly surprised being a passenger. We would definitely do it again and we would not rule out cruising with Costa again.

You know, this reminds about the day I was in a bar in Milan and a englishman walked in. He wanted a tea with milk and could not make himself understood. As he was getting up tight I asked if I could help, as I had taken the trouble to learn the language. After wards his comments were typical. 'Bloody Foreigners[', he said, ' why cannot they speak English'. I did explain that as we were in Italy perhaps he was the foreigner and he should have maybe learnt a few basic Italian words, but he would not it. If you go on a Italian ship, learn some Italian In would say. Oh and by the way learn English grammar as well. Its 'our needs' and not as you have it, 'are needs'

Dear Mr. Bristol cruiser I don't know if you have ever been on a cruise, but if you have you will have noticed that there are lots of different nationalities working on them. Am i supposed to learn them all?The reason for my comment on the Costa cruise were not to criticize the Italian people or there language but to let other cruisers no what to expect.By the way before you correct me on my grammar check your own p.s nice to know that you are going to learn welsh before you come to wales.

Oh that hurt. What I was trying to say, but not very well it seems, was that if you go on a Italian ship for a cruise why do you expect them to speak English? I know that lots of different nationalities work on cruise ships but if they are English cruise ships then they will cater for English speaking. The Costa is a Italian ship so they cater for Italians and people that book to go on it should realise this. Personally I would not go within a hundred yards of this cruise line as its one of the worst cruises going. Oh and I have been on many cruises, but always on a English line. The last was on RCI.
Mine was typing errors,as I missed a few words out because I was in a rush. It was however unforgiveable for me to vriicise you on your grammar and I do appoligise for this. All I can say in Welsh is Yakky Da is this ok?
