The Costa ships are beautiful but if you are English then language can be a problem on board as the ship is full of Europeans. The customer service desk is a complete waste of time, in fact there is no customer service! The food needs to improve, it is poor quality and poor choice. Costa have many wonderful itineries which I think is the cruise lines redeeming feature.

My wife and I have booked a Dubai cruise for march 2010, we have booked RCI Brilliance of the Seas, I know it will be a far far better cruise in every way compared to a Costa, we decided to try out a costa cruise in 2008, from Venice, it was terrible, and a waste of money thank god it was only 7 days. If you read the reviews on this website all the bad things about Costa Serena are very true, bad embarkation, poor food, rude pushing shoving greedy fellow passengers, very very expensive drinks and shore excursions. My advice is to stick to american and english ships, best lines are RCI,Celebrity,Princess, Carnival, Holland America, P&O and Cunard.
