The golden rule for any cruise ship is if the weather is bad, stay at sea till it is safe to berth. It appears that the weather was poor at the time of this dreadful incident, questions will have to be asked. This seams to be one of those ships nobody wants, it never seemed comfortable within the Costa fleet and was unloved whilst with Holland America. Thoughts are with the unfortunate crew members who died, and the passengers who must have found the experience horendous .

Interesting logic - " nobody wants " - Costa wanted it and now Thomson do. Plenty of other ships change too.

I am very sad to hear about the loss of life, but until they investigate what really happen, costa or any other cruise liner should not be blamed. I understand that you felt it was a nightmare, but was is before this awlful accident? or was it just the accident.

We were so sad to hear of the events involving the Costa Europa in Sharm el Sheik and in particular of the deaths of the three crew members and the injuries sustained by passengers. It must have been a really frightening experience for all of you who were aboard. We are so glad you are safe and have been able to return home. Our thoughts are with the families of the crew who died. Susan

Those reading this site will be aware of this sad incident. It is appreciated that your cruise has not turned out as you would have hoped and that 3 crew were tragically drowned in the lower decks of the ship and 3 or 4 passengers were sent to hospital but have been released from there.

I think it's very insensitive of you asking questions about the ship when this poor family have just endured a traumatic experience. I imagine the future of the ship is the last thing on their minds at the present time.
