We have just returned from a 2 week back to back cruise with Celebrity in the Caribbean, this is the fifth year we have taken a caribbean cruise and I can honestly say it was the best. Our journey to Puerto Rico was long due to having to touch down first in Antigua, where we had to sit on the plane whilst U.S customs checked us and the plane out. However once this was over things could only get better and they did.The summit is a splendid ship and we were delighted with our cabin, very spacious and well presented only downfall there was no tea/coffee making facilities in the cabin which would of made it perfect, there was of course 24 hour complimentary cabin service which did some what compensate for the lack of the facility. On our first week we ate on deck 5 of the cosmopolitan and our waiter Cristain was a wealth of information each night. On the second week we were moved down to deck 4 which seemed much noisier and it was difficult to hear each other at our table. The entertainment was excellent the shows were well staged and the 2 comics were very funny although the humour was sometimes a bit lost on us as BRITS the highlight for me was Jordan Bennett as I love musicals. The cruise director Damian made the interactive game type shows very funny he was a great host appealing across the generations. Our ports of call were all good ,as we had visited many if not all of them before we tended to head straight for the beach which was generally just a short taxi drive away.Fares ranging from $3 to $7 each ,each way.My recomendation when in Grenada is the BBC beach which our taxi driver took us to its alittle piece of paradise away from the crowds on Grand Anse beach.Would I travel with Celebrity again Yes,having loved cruising in the past on Fred Olsen ships to whom we have been faithful the last 4 cruises.I must say Iam now coverted to Celebrity as the age profile of fellow cruisers is more to my age group. And in my opinion the shows in comparison to my last Fred cruise were more superior and very proffessional. The bars were very spacious and comfortable all offereing different types of entertainment from a piano bar to kareoke to the grand shows in the theatre and late night game shows and dancing truely something for all ages and tastes. There are just a few negatives
1. the bar prices are steep for us british as all prices are in $ with an exta 15% service charge.
2.the library could of been more comfortable, not as good as the the library on the Balmoral.
3.lack of tea/coffee making facilities in cabin.
But all in all a lovely ship, great staff a wide range of day and evening entertainment,no intrusive announcements throughout the day.Lastly our whole holiday was booked with Virgin holidays and we along with other passengers felt a little let down at the end of the cruise as we had to disembark the summit around 10am and our flight was not until 6pm and our only options with virgin for what was in fact the last day of our holiday was to be dropped off at the airport and wait it out or pay $20 each to walk around a shopping mall not the most memorable end to what had been a great holiday.I think virgin should think again about what they could do for its passengers.

We did this cruise at the end of jan2010, Yes it would be nice to have tea making facilitties in the cabin,it was one of our best cruises as well, next time you do this great cruise from Porto Rico book the half day Porto Rico tour with Celebrity, this solves the problem of hanging arround for hours at the Airport.
