I have just read the review from McPherson, and would agree with most of it. We were in the 'bilges', as we described it, on deck 3 in an outside cabin. As we had booked quite late, the difference in price between an outside cabin & a balcony was vast, so we decided to try an outside cabin for the first time. We were pleasantly surprised with the amount of space, and although the bathroom was tired (ie intermittent mould on the tiles), it was OK. The steward did his best to keep the mould under control, and as others have mentioned, Connie is about to be refurbished.

All the staff we met could not do enough, and were unfailingly polite and cheerful whatever. Special commendation to the customer services desk for sorting out a problem we had with a banging service door which kept us awake throughout the first 2 nights. When we mentioned this, they immediately got someone to put a 'stop' on the door, so it did a slow quiet closure, and phoned to ensure we were happy. We definitely were after a good night's sleep. We were impressed!

When we disembarked, we found that one of our suitcases had been damaged between being collected from outside the cabin, and arriving at the dockside. We filled in a claim form there & then, which we have now e-mailed to the UK office with an estimate for a replacement case. We have received a message saying a cheque is on its' way. Assuming this to be so, then very impressive again.

No complaints about thefood - what was there not to like? Surely enough variety for everybody. The entertainment was OK but only 3 musical shows, whereas on HAL we had one every other night.

The sunbed situation is tricky - how do you manage selfish passengers who reserve 4 beds for 2 people? Perhaps Celebrity should enforce their 'non reservation' policy a little more keenly.

Our main gripe is NO LAUNDERETTE!! This is awkward in a hot climate. Who wants to pay nearly $4 per shirt? A little mean, Celebrity. Those of us in the bilges have not usually budgeted for large laundry bills!! Otherwise, a nice sized ship & I'm sure will be more attractive after the re-fit, especially if a DIY laundry has been installed!!.

We've just returned from Norway and Arctic Circle cruise on Constellation and have to report that the refurb is fantastic. The decor, furniture, soft furnishings and carpets are superb. They have added two new eateries (cover charge applies), we tried them both and really enjoyed them. They have also added a martini ice-bar similar to those on Solstice class. Carpets and curtains have been replaced throughout the ship and the result is classy. We tried select dining for the first time as opposed to fixed and it was a great success and will do that again on our next cruise. Still no laundrette unfortunately! The entertainment was OK - but we don't always make the theatre so it doesn't feature highly on our priorities.
