Celebrity Cruises - Constellation
Celebrity Constellation
Built by Chantiers de l'Atlantique in France, the Celebrity Constellation is a Millennium class ship that has received numerous accolades from cruise reviewers and travel magazines for its style, comfort and amenities.
Along with its sister ships, the Infinity, Summit and Millennium, the Celebrity Constellation was designed by Jon Bannenberg, who is famous for his mega-yacht designs. This explains the vessel's gorgeous lines, stylish exterior and attractive interior.
In 2010, the liner was dry docked for an extensive refurbishment project. This included revamping the craft to include many of the features found on Celebrity Cruise's Solstice class, including some additional restaurants and new bars. In addition, a significant amount of redecorating has been done to give the ship an overall fresher feel.
During the summer months, the Celebrity Constellation is generally based in Amsterdam and departs on cruises to locations throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. Just some of the ports of call include Cherbourg, Kusadasi, Mykonos, Athens and Istanbul.
For the winter, the vessel crosses the Atlantic and is based in Fort Lauderdale, where it provides services to the Caribbean and destinations like Curacao, Grenada, Barbados, Antigua and St Lucia.

Food, cuisine and dining
Celebrity Constellation's main dining room is called the San Marco. Spread over two decks, it has space for 1,170 diners and its main focal point is an enormous window that faces the stern.
There are two traditional dining services for passengers to choose from, while Celebrity Select Dining is also offered for those who prefer more flexibility in their dining schedule. For breakfast and lunch, open seating is available to all.
If you're looking for a change of scenery, why not try one of the many other restaurants for some of your meals?
For example, there's Ocean Liners, an upscale eatery perfect for fine dining with French flair, as well as the Tuscan Grille for those who prefer Italian cuisine.
Other options include: • AquaSpa Cafe • Bistro on Five • Cafe al Bacio • Gelateria
There's also an all-you-can-eat buffet, while room service is available 24 hours a day.
On-board entertainment and activities
Keeping busy on the Celebrity Constellation shouldn't be difficult, as the ship is home to a number of shows and the various bars, clubs and lounges also host live music throughout the day and evenings.
Cellar masters is a wine bar that not only offers a delicious variety of wines, but also the chance to learn the art of wine tasting and find out about new vintages sure to delight your senses, as well as discovering more about the drink.
Another option is the Crush Martini Bar, which features ice-filled tables that keep drinks and tasty scampi caviar cool all night long.
Of course, the ship is also home to traditional cruise entertainment like karaoke competitions, quizzes and bingo. And the kids' club has been specially designed to keep younger cruisers occupied throughout the voyage.
Spas and fitness facilities
There's a huge spa on-board the Celebrity Constellation. Called the AquaSpa, it measures 25,000 square feet and offers a wide range of options for those wishing to get the ultimate in relaxation during their cruise.
The Solarium is a peaceful area with a glass roof and thalassotherapy therapy pool, which makes use of the therapeutic properties of seawater.
If you're looking for a vigorous workout to help you relieve your tension, then the spa's large gym will do the trick. It's equipped with a variety of exercise equipment, while aerobics, Pilates and yoga classes are offered throughout the day in the fitness classrooms.
And if you want to ensure that you're looking your absolute best when you step off the vessel, then be sure to check out the beauty salon, which offers services like hair treatments and styling, manicures, pedicures, facials and teeth whitening.
Cabins
With just under 1,000 rooms and 20 different price categories, the Celebrity Constellation offers a wide range of accommodation options for its passengers.
This means that it doesn't matter whether you're seeking a low-cost cruise deal or you want to splash out on all the luxuries: there's sure to be a stateroom that matches your particular requirements.
Enjoying the ocean view from the privacy of your own cabin can be an important part of a cruise, and with the Celebrity Constellation, it's not hard to find a room that offers this feature. After all, nearly 80 per cent of the staterooms have ocean views, while more than half of those have private balconies.
There are four different categories of suites: Penthouse, Royal, Celebrity and Sky. These vary by room size and amenities, but all include butler service, all meals served in your cabin as required (including afternoon tea), welcome champagne and a personal computer.
Alternatively, there are the standard cabins, which provide plenty of comfort. All rooms include an en suite bathroom, private safe, interactive television, a separate seating area and plenty of storage space.
