We too have just returned on 9th March and we were in Aqua Class stateroom 1630 on deck 11 which i have to say were very good with all the required storage space we needed. The ship itself was excellent no fault at all as was the service , We were given a table in the Blu Restaurant which was very nice but for my taste the food was a little restricted and on some occasions overly pretentious.
The entertainment was very good along the lines of most leading cruise lines these days with plenty of choice throughout the whole cruise. Overall the cruise , ship , crew were excellent.
However as mentioned on several earlier reviews the obnoxious smell of ammonia/urine is still all pervasive when walking along the upper corridors and upper atrium areas. The reason we were given when raising the problem was that it was insulation giving off the smell when the weather was humid.
CELEBRITY IT APPEARS TO ME HAVE QUITE A SERIOUS PROBLEM WHICH THEY ARE FINDING DIFFICULT TO RESOLVE , OFFERING A DIFFERENT REASON EACH TIME A COMPLAINT IS RAISED. THIS SHIP IS NO LONGER BRAND NEW AND THIS WAS NO SHAKEDOWN CRUISE.

Thanks for your comment. We are looking forward to our cruise next Feb. It sounds like the location of cabin 1630 is good and quiet since the suites are above opposed to the pool area and gym. Just curious as to how far the cabin is from the stairway or elevator? Looking forward to using the Persian Gardens and Relaxation Room.
Question by Dyar, Greenville (18 Aug 10 21:15) about this REVIEW
Just curious as to how cabin 1630 is arranged. Have heard some cabins have bed by the closets and that makes it difficult to get into the closet. We are booked on the Equinox Feb 28, 2011 in cabin 1630 and have friends in 1632. We asked for cabins in this area so there would be suites above us and not the pool area so hopefully there will be no above noice. Have also heard the Aqua Class is great - we are looking forward to that. Hope the smell you mentioned is gone since I have terrible allergies. We experienced a horrible cruise on the Mercury last March and all were sick with the Norivirus and terrible bronchitis from the bleach solution used constantly to disinfect .. sure hope there is no bad smells on this new ship !!! Any information on the cabins and cabins locations and perks for Aqua Class would be appreciated.

Now that you come to mention it I do remember an ammonia smell in the corridors when we took our cruise on the equinox last October. But frankly I'm amazed that this seems to be such a big deal for people - how much time did you spend in the corridors during the cruise? A few minutes every day maybe? And staterooms and public areas unaffected. So in what way does this constitute a serious problem? We found the ship simply amazing - easily as good as Cunard liners - a lot better than Queen Victoria in fact. There are going to be niggles on every ship, but this simply isn't worth worrying about.
Opinion: Agree Comment by Watt, Aberdeenshire (18 Mar 10 23:53) about this REVIEW
We have to agree - we were on the same cruise. We had a brilliant holiday - we couldn\'t fault anything about the ship (apart from the weird smell). The ship was beautiful, the food was excellant, lovely appointed staterooms and very friendly staff. I have to say I noticed the musty/damp/urine? smell whenever we boarded, it got stronger as we walked along the corridors to our staterooms.....we were on deck 8. I was expecting the ship to still have that \'new\' smell as it\'s not even a year old yet. I must say our cabins were lovely and no smell. I think the smell must have been the topic of conversation most days! Certainly the people we spoke to. We booked a cruise on this ship about a year ago to visit the Holy Land in September with friends - so we\'re hoping the problem has been resolved by then........ we think the smell could be coming from the carpets, if so they need to renew them - quickly!!
Opinion: Agree Comment by Adams, Croydon (17 Mar 10 11:56) about this REVIEW
As one of the original noses that were offended by the unpleasant odor, I have to agree that Celebrity are finding this a challenge to resolve. We sailed on Solstice not long after she commissioned and had no such problem and I would assume that the builders used exactly the same materials on both ships, as they will have on the Eclipse, so I hope that they have resolved the problem by the time we sail on her in the autumn.
