We boarded Carnival Victory in Barbados after spending 7 days at Escape At THe Gap.Boarding was very fast as the main embarkation point was San Juan. Our cabin was an inside on deck 2.Plenty of storage space. The bathroom was big compared to other cruise lines.Lots of room to store toiletries inside bathroom cabinets with mirrors.Good complimentary toiletries.Bathrobes were provided. No fridge but our room steward renewed ice in bucket without us asking. After buying cans of coke cheaply at San Juan cruise terminal he brought us a big bucket of ice, like comes when you buy 5 beers.
We chose second sitting for our evening meal. The waiters were very good and attentive and remembered our names after day 1.We enjoyed the entertainment they did before the last course was served. We also ate breakfast in the dining room because we liked to be waited on whilst on holidayand it got very busy in the buffet ,there were plenty of tables but long lines at the omelette stations.Plenty of choice at lunchtime in the buffet also the chinese bar,the deli, pizzeria, burger bar and sushi bar.Didn't have to pay a surcharge wherever you ate.Food and choice was very good. Also ice cream stations.Drink stations were very good with good orange juice on till 11am.After that you could get fresh lemon juice all day plus usual tea, coffee, water and chocolate.Pizzeria open 24 hours and they were the best I have tasted anywhere and cooked to order.Didn't use room service but noticed very good choice and not a supplement on some items as on other cruise lines.
Plenty of loungers around the decks, could always find empty ones. The adult only serenity area was luxury, with padded chairs, double beds and hammocks. The gym was well equipped and the changing and showering area vey good .Didn't use the spa but the prices looked reasonable.3 swimming pools and an awesome water chute, pity it was a long walk back up.Crazy golf was good and well maintened.
The entertainment wasn't to our English taste but Americans seemed to enjoy it and the theatre was always full.Large casino but didn't enjoy playing fruit machines because had to use room card to play and not cash or tokens.Part of the enjoyment is hearing money rattling out.
Our grandchild really enjoyed Camp Carnival.Good choice of activities including late parties and pizza making.
Was our first time with Carnival and can't fault them.Would definately cruise with them especially if travelling with children and grandchildren.

That sounds great. I am going on same cruise with my partner in March 2012, and after we had booked it without really checking it out thoroughly, I felt somewhat worried about various comments on the review sites. However, yours sounds good so I will keep my fingers crossed that we enjoy it as well. HillieP of Horndon on the Hill
