Carnival Cruises - Carnival Victory
Carnival Victory
The Carnival Victory is one of two ships in the Triumph class of vessels. Along with its sister, the Carnival Triumph, both ships are very similar to the Destiny class ships, except that they have additional decks.
In fact, apart from their size, many of the liners in the Carnival Cruises fleet are actually quite similar. This is because the company found a design that worked and decided to stick with it.
From restaurants and activities to swimming pools and entertainment options: if you like something on one Carnival vessel, you're likely to find it on another. This gives return passengers a sense of consistency and reassurance that they'll enjoy their next cruise, no matter which ship they're booked on.
They really have thought of everything on the Victory. It provides a fun and relaxing atmosphere and, as part of the line's Fun Ship cruising concept, boredom is never an issue.
Cruises on the Victory generally depart from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and sail around the Caribbean. These are generally six to eight-day trips and popular destinations include St Thomas, Barbados, St Lucia, St Maarten and St Kitts.

Food, cuisine and dining
One of the most popular places to dine on the Victory is the Mediterranean Buffet. This massive eatery is a self-service venue where you can find a huge range of cuisines - from continental breakfasts, through to Chinese food, fish and chips, sandwiches and salads. It even includes a fabulous pizzeria.
Located on the Lido Deck, it's open 24 hours a day, so whether you're looking for a casual place to go for a main meal or a midnight snack, it's sure to have something to satiate your hunger.
Other options include the main dining rooms - the Atlantic and Pacific - for a more traditional cruise meal. There's also a cafe where you can pick up a hot drink and a delicious pastry and self-serve ice cream stations are scattered around the vessel. In addition, room service is available 24 hours a day.
On-board entertainment and activities
The stunning nine-storey atrium is a popular location for passengers on the Victory. This offers a great place to sit back and do some people watching, while enjoying a tasty drink or a quiet conversation. The space also includes a bar and a stage where live music is often performed.
Elsewhere on the ship, options include karaoke and bingo competitions and large-scale cabaret performances are held nightly in the Caribbean show lounge. Alternatively, there are also a number of shops for a bit of retail therapy, as well as a casino and a library.
Entertainment for children includes a number of age-specific activities and venues, including Camp Carnival, Circle "C" and Club O2. There's an outdoor area with a kiddie pool and playhouse for younger cruisers, while a massive video games arcade and teen-only hangout area are popular amongst older kids.
Of course, passengers of all ages will enjoy activities like mini golf and shuffleboard, while the massive water slides will definitely add a bit of excitement to your voyage.
Spas and fitness facilities
The Oasis Escape is a lush venue with a tranquil and soothing atmosphere. Trained specialists are available to provide treatments like massages, aromatherapy and body wraps.
Decorated in a modern, yet elegant, way that enhances the relaxing ambiance, other facilities in the spa include saunas and steam rooms, a solarium and lecture rooms where you can learn about improving your wellbeing, with personal trainers, suggestions for stress relief and nutrition advice.
Beauty services are available in the spa and facials, manicures and anti-age treatments are just a few of the favourite options. There are a number of treatments exclusively for men, as well.
There's also a sizable gym that's fully equipped with exercise machines - and the large picture windows afford amazing ocean views and give the area an added sense of spaciousness. Alternatively, you can go for a swim, enjoy a run on the jogging track, or take part in activities like ping-pong, shuffleboard and miniature golf.
Cabins
When planning a voyage on the Victory, there are plenty of accommodation options to choose from. There are 1,379 rooms in 20 different price categories, depending on the room size, location, amenities and whether or not the cabin includes a window or balcony.
Around half of the rooms are on the outside of the ship and they're all significantly larger than the industry standard, ensuring that you have plenty of space, even if you find an excellent, low-cost cruise deal.
Carnival is well known for its brightly coloured accommodation. All the rooms feature warm tones, with mainly cream, rust and gold hues. In general, the decor is fairly simple and the furniture has a square shape. Rooms with windows have heavy blackout curtains and bathrooms are large and elegant.
Most rooms have space for two guests - two single beds that can be pushed together to create a queen. Suites typically have king size beds, while some rooms are able to accommodate three or more people.
