After 48 hours travelling being diverted to Boston as Baltimore was under 2 feet of snow we were really glad to be in our cabin with 1 hour to spare!. We even carried our luggage on board ourselves as there was no one else checking in when we got there. A great cabin - spacious, clean and our cabin steward was the best. Masses of food on board with different themes every day in the buffet at lunch so you could always eat something different. Breakfast though was a real bunfight and we decided to eat in the restaurant which was much more civilised and meant we ate less!. BUT the service was very slow in there and the staff were not a happy bunch. Also massive queues to get into the normal dining restaurant every night as there is only one general restaurant. The best place to eat is definitely the premium Steakhouse and although $30 each IS WORTH IT. The food and service were SUPERB - amazing steaks, lobster and desserts. MUST BE TRIED - we ate on the last night and had we know how good it was would have been there alot more. Shows were OK but as we were amongst a small handful of Brits it was all geared up for the USA guests and the comedians and music were not our cup of tea.
We found a few communication issues re the on board announcements when we found that really important ones were not heard in the cabins and we missed the muster beacuse of this.
Also this was a Christmas cruise and we were VERY disappointed with the lack of Christmas decorations and festivities apart from a concert that the guests children performed in which was the hightlight of the on board entertainment. The children are very well catered for and in fact we hardly noticed them being on board. But there were many teenagers on board many of which had attitude which was a nuisance.
There were 3 ports of call and we generally feel that we wouldnt bother visiting the Bahamas again unless we wanted diamonds and tanzanite.
The internet access we though was unecessarily expensive and we found a couple of internet cafes on shore who were almost giving access away!
All in all a great cabin and steward. Service in the buffet and restaurants was not good but if you pay for premium service you get it in abundance.
Quality of Food2
Recommend restaurant for breakfast for better quality, ambience, comfort and a quiet atmosphere. As long as you are happy to wait a while and have your order slightly wrong every time. Recommend the premium restaurant as many times as you can afford
Entertainment1
Childrens Xmas Eve performance was excellent. The rest we found poor and unsatisfactory
Shore Excursions1
Our Bahamas excursion was cancelled due to choppy seas.
Staff5
The Steward in the cabin who was very attentive, always remembered our names and did some extra laundry for us.
Children's Facilitiesn/a
Onboard Activities1
Not as any as we have enjoyed before and many overlapped
Cabins4
Yes and even though we had a restricted view balcony it was worth the discount we received as it was just the view down that we missed out on
