After cruising with Princess last year (our first) was told that Carnival was not as good and tried to warn us off. I'm glad I did not take that advice as this was just as good, in fact our balcony stateroom was better. The food was great and the entertainment was good too, ensuring we had yet an other fantastic holiday. The only dissapointment was that only a handful of us bothered to dress up on the two formal nights, which was a shame as I think this is part of the cruise experience. Can't wait until the next one now I have the cruise bug. I was warned that once you have been on a cruise, no other holiday is the same. And that is true.
Quality of Food4
Very good choice of food. Used the buffet mostly as we ate when we wanted too. But when we had dinner in the restaurant, the quality and choice was good too.
Entertainment5
The shows were worthy of the West End and the comedy club had some really good comedians even though it was geared up for Americans and some jokes went over our heads.
Shore Excursions3
Grand Caymen, 4x4 Jeep safari was a bit of a rip off as you are under the impression we had a jeep to ourselves but they crammed 4 people in to a small jeep with all of our bags/cameras etc which was a bit uncomfortable. Did not go far as the guide seemed to be in a bit of a hurry. But the beach was good and sea great to snorkel in. Not so impressed with Ocho Rios, Jamaica, (except Dunn's River Falls which was o.k.) Be careful of the vendors there. I pretended I only had $8, which the guy (who was very intimidating) took without hesitation, otherwise he would have taken me for more, as he had carved both our names in two bits of wood so felt obliged to buy them. Did not go on a shore excursion in Cozumel, Mexico , but worth a look around. As the port is near the town, took a Taxi and did our own thing. Nice place to wander about.
Staff4
All very good. None stood out
Children's Facilitiesn/a
Onboard Activities4
Plenty to do on Sea days.
Cabins5
Had a balcony cabin which was very comfortable.
