We had cancelled a Princess cruise, then found we had some spare time to travel. The only appropriate cruise we could find at a week's notice was a week on Carnival Glory.
We had read so much about Carnival and we were not sure if it woud be a good match for us. We were very pleasantly surprised! Most of our cruises have been with Princess and Celebrity, with one also taken with Royal Caribbean.
Carnival was a different experience: Yes, the decor was louder. Yes, the passenger demographic was younger. Yes, there were a lot more strenuous excursions offered.
I liked the decor and the colour scheme grew on me. I never felt too old nor too young to be on the ship. The entertainment was excellent as was the food. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, polite and seemed genuinely pleased to be there.

Would we cruise with Carnival again? Absolutely! We choose our cruises for the itinerary so this experience has just provided us with an alternative cruiseline to consider in future.
