Azamara Quest Christmas and New Year 2009 from Singapore to Hong Kong. The two Azamara ships are almost identical, and carry around 750 passengers. With almost half that number of staff the service throughout our trip was exceptional. You could order breakfast in your room, but we found this to be quite poor. Items missing, cold toast etc. The rest of the food, however, was SUPERB. We tried both of the speciality restaurant, One serves a French style menu, whilst the second serves mainly steaks. Whilst they were both excellent we did not return to either, mainly because the main dining restaurant was just as good. The food was always perfectly prepared and served. The dress code was a bit of a surprise to us - no formal nights. We took dinner suits, but only wore them on new Years Eve. You don't need to pack a suit, just smart casual. This does not detract from the experience at all as the ship is very smart (and tastefully decorated) and you will feel relaxed and comfortable very quickly. There were very few children aboard, and very little entertainment provided for them, this ship is suited to couples more than families. The entertainment is supervised by Cruise Director Sue - and she does a wonderful job. There are no big shows or dancers - the entertainment is quite laid back but good quality musicians and singers. The pool is VERY small, but there are plenty of sunbeds - we never had a problem finding space even on days at sea. The butler keeps the room spotless - he must have a sixth sense, because you don't see him but every time you return to your room is has been cleaned! The ship docked at most ports overnight, giving two 'full' days to explore. We found this to be a massive advantage, being able to visit night markets in Bangkok, Saigon and Singapore. You could also take 2 day trips to Angkor Wat or Hanoi. This gave us a much better feel for the cities than the usual 6 hour trip - we would book with Azamara again just for this feature. We would recommend this cruise line without reservation for couples or families with 'older' kids - we will certainly return.

| Quality of Food | |
| Excellent throughout - except room service breakfast. The sushi chef is excellent - a pool grill bar serves ribs, kebabs etc. all day. The main restaurant has a great selection and every course was superb. Bean to cup coffee and a huge variety of ice cream at no extra charge. | | Entertainment | |
| | Shore Excursions | |
| Cruise on Halong Bay good value at £34 pp. At Vietnamese ports we were able to rent a taxi for about 50 - 60 dollars a day. | | Staff | |
| Cruise Director Sue is fabulous. She works non stop all day and makes everyone feel at ease. All the staff are very competent and friendly, after a few days many will know you name, the Maitre D will know your table preference. | | Children's Facilities | |
| Not really suitable for young children who need to be entertained. | | Onboard Activities | |
| Far less than on the larger ships - but we were never bored. This is not for anyone into Rock climbing, ice skating, giant screens or organised games. Of course if you don't like those things it's great. The activities that are provided are excellent. | | Cabins | |
| Good sized room - very smart. Very clean. | | Overall Rating | |
