We have just returned from a 16 night trip to Antarctic via the Falkland Islands and Argentina. This has to have been the best cruise we have ever done. The Captain was brilliant - he was both professional and friendly and always had time to chat to individual passengers. The cruise director (Eric) was the best we have encountered in all our years of cruising and the enterainment was also the best overall. It showed how much the Captain cared about his staff when he treated them to excursions in the Falklands and allowed them time off to enjoy the Icebergs in Antarctica. The whole crew seemed to be very happy to be on such a ship - they were very proud of it and it showed.
The food was also the best we have encountered at sea - there was always a good choice with at least six mains to choose from (not a mean feat on a ship carrying only 500 passengers). It was always hot even at the buffet station - on previous cruises it has often been lukewarm which is a health hazard.
One word of caution - the excursions are really pricey unless they are booked online before the start of the cruise when they are half price. At the prices on board they ar NOT good value for money.
Overall the whole trip was fantastic. I would do it again if I could (and on the same ship).

Our cabin Steward - Aldo was particularly efficient and kept the cabin beautiful with fresh flowers and fruit every day.
At mealtimes we were impressed by the friendliness of two waiters - Paul and Allan

do you have any pictures you could post somewhere from this trip. DH and I are considering it for next year and wonder if the scenery is as fabulous as reported. Thank You.

We had Eric for our Transatlantic on the Journey last April. We agree - the best Cruise Director anywhere! Is he still reading out the e-mails from his 'Grandfather'?

Thank you for this. We are thinking of doing this cruise next year on Quest (We love Azamara). My husband is just concerned about 2 issues- length of flight from UK and whether its a direct flight and as he suffers from sea sickness, how rough the seas were. It is somewhere we have always wanted to go and any advice on the trip would be welcome.

Booked on Journey for March 2012. Had sailed on Quest last year and was impressed by Captain,Officers and Crew,so was hopeful that Journey would be similar.Good to hear that is the case.
