We had travelled on Azamara Quest some 18 months ago and were extremely impressed with our experience so our return trip on the Journey was eagerly anticipated. Unfortunately we felt that this trip was not as we expected from a cruise line aiming at a luxury market above the best of the norm.
We found our outside cabin although newly curtained was showing wear with chips out, of the woodwork, the flower vase was cracked and water was seeping onto the desktop and we were not met on arrival and shown to our cabin. The staff , from the waiters to the guest relations and the entertainment staff, were very friendly and did a good job and the food was excellent anywhere on the ship and especially so in the speciality restaurants. Wine was extortionate with the cheapest bottle totalling to $46.
Entertainment on a small ship is difficult owing to lack of space and this was adequate, although on the whole not memorable.
We are aware that there are to be changes from 1st April when Azamara changes its policies under a new Company name and logo but we are also aware that prices have raised considerably from this date and we are not at all sure that the higher price is warranted at present. The extras offered are gatuities, inclusive wine at lunch and dinner, butler in suites only and free courtesy buses at some ports and the price increase far outweighs these extras. We would expect a refurb to capture the de-luxe market as the ship still bears the ambience of its former owners, Renaissence.

| A good selection of entertainment. | | Shore Excursions | n/a |
| Excursions were pricey but at each port there was always a large group of taxis for independent travellers | | Staff | |
| Guest relations staff very friendly and helpful, waiters excellent as was the entertainment staff. Special mention must go the Tony and Lisa. Most of the officers were alswo friendly and always spoke when passing. All in all a happy crew. | | Children's Facilities | n/a |

| A little worn but a good size. Large Queen size bed. We do not like duvets but the butler was happy to change this to sheeet/blankets. Towelling gowns provided but were heavy and too hot for warmer areas. | | Overall Rating | |
