RCI Improve Members Benefits

Royal Caribbean Intl announced this week some new improvements to its Crown & Anchor Society for loyal members. The changes were rolled out on 1st June 2010, offering members the opportunity to book up their next cruise onboard and receive an onboard credit for their future trip. Members also can use their Crown & Anchor Society Savings Certificates and receive the onboard credit for their future booking, receive more individual attention and service from onboard Loyalty Staff aboard each ship, have priority notification of exclusive member specials, and receive added-value offers in the Crown & Anchor Society Ultimate Value Booklet.

“We listened to our member guests and are launching programme enhancements to reflect what they told us matter most to them,” said Betsy O’Rourke, senior vice president of Marketing, Royal Caribbean International. “The new exclusive benefits will add to those that members have enjoyed in the past and reflect Royal Caribbean’s commitment to recognise and reward our loyal members who cruise with us again and again. There has never been a better time to be a Crown & Anchor Society member, and there is more to come.”

An additional Crown & Anchor Society Loyalty Staff member also has been appointed aboard each ship to offer more personalised service and deliver the Royal treatment to each member guest. The Loyalty Staff members can help answer member guests’ questions and help them reserve future cruises to take advantage of the new and enhanced vacation offers, available only to members of the Crown & Anchor Society.

Yes, this looks a good idea and if they can replicate the great benefits just like the Tesco clubcard point system gives you, like the more you spend the greater the rewards, Rci could dominate the cruise industry just like Tesco has done in their field.

We have continued travelling with RCL/CEL as their benefits are excellent when on board. We have reached our Diamond Plus status and this is applicable to CEL as well. With the Diamond/Diamond plus the benefit of the happy hour from 5.50-8.30 each evening gives one an excellent saving on the drinks alone, We recently cruised to Dubai on the Brillance of the Seas, and as it was a members cruise as well, we had the use of the Viking Lounge each evening for the Diamond events, and we worked out this saved us about £300 on drinks alone. The larger ships have a concierge club on deck 10 and the passengers who have only the Diamond level have the diamond club on Deck 13, which we prefer as it is an escellent position overlooking the sea and more personnal. We must say this is one of the best rewards of the cruise lines we have sailed with. See you there on the IOS 11 September 2010
