HUGE Cruise Ship Breaks Clyde Record Crown Princess can carry 3,080 passengers and 1,200 crew and made the first of four calls at the Ocean Terminal this summer. The 113,000-tonne ship breaks the record for the biggest cruise vessel coming to the Clyde. The largest up to now have been the 108,000-tonne ships Grand Princess, Golden Princess and Star Princess. Crown Princess is sailing 12-day trips around the British Isles. She arrived on the Clyde, in from Belfast, around 7am and left at 7pm bound for Invergordon. She features a Movies Under the Stars poolside movie screen, multiple dining and entertainment options, a fitness centre, an extensive children and teen's centre, a wedding chapel and nearly 900 staterooms with private balconies. Crown Princess won’t hold the Clyde record for long as the massive, 148,000-tonne Queen Mary 2 calls atGreenock in October.
