a QUESTION by Dandridge (21 Jun 09 09:19)
I did speak to someone who did this and said the weather was a little mixed and the sea was rough leaving the caribbean for a day and then from Madeira to Gibraltar - but next year it could be completely different. As for the weather being mixed - I think she said it rained one day but we did the Transatlantic going out to the Caribbean in Dec 08 and the sea was pretty good but the weather only improved once we were about two thirds of the way across - normally it is said to be better from earlier in the crossing than this for the time of year and the latitude we were at. I would take normal summer wear and a couple of warm jumpers / tops and one very light rain coat / fold up plastic mac.

I meant what had the weather been like during the cruise at that time of year, perhaps I phrased the question incorrectly. Some sensible answers would be appreciated this time round.
