How this score is created

The holistic approach to wellbeing plays a big part in relaxation and body pampering aboard SeaDream II. To this end, a new Asian Spa/Wellness Centre has been created, housed together with a small gymnasium, and beauty salon. There are three massage/body treatment rooms, a sauna, and small steam shower enclosure. The spa, located in a private area forward on Deck 4, is staffed and operated as a concession by Universal Maritime Services. SeaDream’s Signature Massage (a combination of Eastern and Western massage techniques is featured ($150 for 80 minutes). Other types of massages offered include Shiatsu ($110 for 50 minutes), and Swedish Remedial Anti-Stress Massage ($110 for 50 minutes). Massage on the beach is featured when the ship operates its famous beach party.

Body scrubs such as Balinese Salt Glow, Honey Glow Polish, Javanese Lulur, and Papaya Body Polish (all are $190 for 140 minutes of lavish pampering) are also offered. For the ultimate in “pampership”, there’s a complete SeaDream Wellness Day (at a cost of $500), or a whole week (a five day programme with treatments of 90 minutes each day, for $700). The spa and wellness centre offerings can also be coordinated with an optional spa cuisine program (at least one of the dishes featured is Oriental, in keeping with the theme of the spa).

Meanwhile, golfers should enjoy the electronic golf simulator, with a choice of several golf courses to play. For more recreational facilities, note that at the stern is a small, retractable, water sports platform. Equipment carried for sporting types include a water-ski boat, sailboat, two wave runners (jet skis), seven kayaks, wake boards, snorkeling equipment and two Zodiacs. The use of all this equipment is included in the price of your cruise. Note, however, the sea conditions have to be just right (minimal swell) for these items to be used, which, on average is once or twice in a 7-night cruise. You may also be allowed to swim off the stern platform if conditions permit. Ten mountain bikes are also carried, so you can pedal away when ashore.
