Decks have ample space for sunning and a teak
promenade for walking or jogging. Whirlpools and a small, deep swimming pool are in a peculiar spot near the Veranda Café—the pool is often shaded by the ship’s superstructure, inhibiting swimmers.
The ships have a water sports platform with a 30-by-30-foot steelmeshed cage that drops into the sea, creating a protected saltwater pool. A teak border provides a launch area for paddleboats, windsurfers, kayaks, and sailboats in warm-weather ports. Two high-speed boats pull water-skiers or banana boats and also transport snorkelers and divers to choice locations. Although the ships try to use these marinas at least once a week, rough water may preclude it.
In the 2003 renovations, fitness facilities were upgraded substantially, with the gym doubled in size and more state-of-the-art equipment added, along with new cabinets and lockers. Daily stretch and exercise classes at varied workout levels, individual training, sauna, and steam rooms are available. The Spa at Seabourn has enhanced selections of beauty treatments and services, along with fitness classes in yoga, Pilates, and cardio Ki Bo circuit training.
Seabourn no longer has a golf program; however, the line can make arrangements for tee times on request. Seabourn’s ships visit 90 ports around the world where passengers have access to more than 100 golf courses, including most of the major and famous ones.
