Seabourn History
Originally founded in 1986 as Signet Cruise Line, the company, then owned by Norwegian industrialist Atle Brynestad, had to change its name in 1988 as a result of a lawsuit brought by a Texas ferry company that had already registered the name. In 1998, a consortium, which included the Carnival Corporation and Norwegian investors, bought Seabourn Cruise Line and merged its operations into Cunard Line, which was acquired from Kvaerner. The Carnival Corporation acquired 100 per cent of Seabourn Cruise Line in 1999.
The company aims its product at affluent, sophisticated, well travelled people, mainly North Americans, with small ships providing a high level of European-style service, open-seating dining, all-inclusive drinks, great attention to detail and personal pampering. Seabourn Cruise Line was rebranded as The Yachts of Seabourn in 2009-10.

What a
disappointment!First 2
days food was awful after
that it did improve
slightly but certainly
wasn't what we have come
to expect from this
quality of cruise,the
coffee was terrible and
when we asked why they
said the machine was
broken...
We booked Seabourn
Odyssey Venice to Athens
for our Ruby Wedding
Anniversary. We had paid
for a guaranteed V4 and
were delighted to find we
had been upgraded to a
Penthouse Suite. The
service was second to
none in all areas...
This was our first cruise
with Seabourn and it
sertainly will not be our
last. We cruised from
Athens through the Greek
Islands and then on to
the Balck Sea. The
service and ambiance on
board was excellent and
the staff went out of
their way to be helpful...
We cruised on Seabourn
Legend over Easter 2012
and were disappointed
with what is advertised
as a 6 star ship. The sun
loungers were old and had
no cushions. An inside
bar was never open during
the daytime or when
sailing away...
This time last year, I
never expected to be
sipping Pina Colada in
the sunset as the Indian
Ocean slipped by beneath
the hull of the Seabourn
Pride. But this is where
we found ourselves in the
last weeks before
Christmas having booked
only six weeks...
Enjoyed every minute of
our first Seabourn cruise
aboard the beautiful
Quest. Nothing was too
much trouble for the
excellent staff. Our
stewardess kept our suite
spotless with a plentiful
supply of toiletries...
we have just disembarked
following a really
relaxing cruise around
the Carribean on Seabourn
Sojourn. It was our first
Seabourn experience.

expect. As anticipated

Seabourn have got a great
product, know what their
passengers...
We sailed away from
Auckland’s
spectacular skyline
aboard Seabourn Odyssey,
which is the best way to
sail away from anywhere,
really. We sailed on
Odyssey two years ago,
and liked her so much
that we booked the same
suite for this trip...
