How this score is created
The no-smoking Aquarius Dining Room is set on two levels with large ocean-view picture windows on two sides (rectangular windows on the upper level, large circular windows on the lower level) and a large connecting stairway. There are two seatings.
The Windjammer Cafe is the casual dining spot for self-serve buffets. The area is well-designed, with contemporary decor and colors, but the food is really basic fare and disappointing; the four-sided self-service buffet area is small for the number of passengers that use it. More money needs to be spent for better-quality ingredients and more variety is needed. Each evening, the room offers an alternative to the more dressy dining room. The evening buffets typically feature a different theme, something this company has been doing for more than 25 years – perhaps the time has come for more creativity.
A hamburger/hot dog grill counter in the Solarium, but typically you don’t get a choice of how well done or not so well done you get your hamburgers – everything appears to be well done.
The company has introduced a drinks package (available at all bars, in the form of cards or stickers) that enables you to pre-pay for a selection of standard soft drinks and alcoholic drinks. The packages are not easy to understand.
