Unlikely there will be many children on board - they'll all be at school. There is however a good library where they can get a good book to keep them occupied. Best of luck! .... Grumps

Since schools have only just gone back there probably won't be that many kids on board, realistically...

a QUESTION by butterworth (03 Jul 09 23:37)
They will have a wonderful time and there is plenty for them to do. We cruised on O of S last September and I remember saying how great it was for all the kids........any ages. We were interested to see what there was for them as we now have nine grandchildren. The children that sat at the next table to us for dinner were having a ball and could not wait to get back to THEIR activities as soon as food was eaten. The activities were varied and well supervised for the younger ones. The teenages had their own enetertainment space which included loads of computer games which they seemed to love. The theatre had shows that suited all the family, the circus themed one especially was a big hit. Theres the flow rider and climbing wall outside, plus all the fun water areas. There is ice skating where all ages can have a go ( even my 60 year old husband made us laugh on there).
Take the opportunity to enjoy yourselves there is plenty to keep young and not so young occupied, and all the food is fantastic.......the waiters loved the kids, especially those that remembered their manners. Have fun and good luck

oh yes ive heard of it. they can have 10 days holiday out of term which is at the headmistresses descretion. she has kindly authorised it. had she not authourised it we would have had a £150 government fine to pay which would have still made our holiday £2,850 cheaper had we gone in august, but thanks for your comment.

You must have paid a lot for it if you are saving that amount of money.

Maybe I should ask my boss if I can take an extra 2 weeks holiday after I have taken my allotted 4 weeks and be paid for it.
I am sure I would be sacked, as I think the Head Mistress of your school should be, unless of course you are on the board of govenors, then anything goes, but that's just my opinion.
It is amazing how schooling has changed so much. This would have not happened 20 years ago.

Its not about the money you save, its about being responsible parents and considering the impact being out of school term time will have on your children's education and progress

Bad management with each child could have a different ten days, what about the teacher who then has to do extra work to catch the child up or be marked down on results when it comes to exam time. All the time the teacher is doing one to one they are either loosing their break time or it is to the detriment of the rest of the class.
