Princess marked its beginning in 1965 when a small, one-ship line called Princess Cruises sailed to the Mexican Riviera, using a 6,000-ton ferry vessel named Princess Patricia. In the intervening years, the company has grown from a pioneer of modern-day cruising with a focus on the West Coast to a worldwide fleet of 15 modern ships sailing to all seven continents. From its inception, Princess Cruises helped create the relaxed, casual atmosphere that typifies today’s cruises.
