We bought just an "element" from Magellans that heats up water in a cup very quickly and saves loads of room instead of a kettle. It has been all over the world with us and can be put in a drawer easily. These & two insulated travel mugs, and you're well away!

It'a shame. When Sea Princess was with P&O as Adonia kettles, tea, coffee, chocolate, biscuits were provided in each cabin. When she went back to Princess this facility was removed.

You are not allowed kettles/irons in your stateroom for health and safety reasons (fire risk). Why not ring room service (available 24/7). They are very efficient and tea/coffee is free of charge.

kettles and irons are a Fire risk. However if you can demonstrate that the kettle has an automatic cut off then you should be alright. Have a word with your steward. If he says no just hide it away when you are out of the stateroom.

I think the official ruling is that you are not allowed to use travel kettles or irons in your cabin....having said that we did use a travel kettle a few years ago on Sea Princess which we left in full view and nothing was said...the only thing is it takes up space in your luggage !!!

Thank you, Morris, (and the other folk!) for your replies - much appreciated. Our tiny travel kettle has got an automatic cut-out thermostat, and we do have the relevant adaptors. I think we may take a chance and pop it in our luggage and have a word with our cabin steward when we get on board. If it's a definite no-no we shall then stuff it back into the suitcase and call upon room service! If the powers that be confiscate it, then so be it......... Chris
