Ventura

Ventura is the P&O version of Princess Cruises’ Grand-class ships, and the largest cruise ship yet built specifically for UK passengers. With its flat stern, it looks a bit like a hatchback.

Inside the ship, a three-deck atrium is the focal point. Designed on a gateway theme, central to which are four towering black granite archways specially sourced from India, it’s the place to see and be seen. There are 7,000 pieces of art on board from 55 artists.

Other public rooms include a large library (Chapter One), aCyb@cenFortunes Casino, and several bars, including The Exchange (an urban warehouse bar), and Matropolitan.

Ventura has been specifically designed with families and children in mind. Indeed, children will be pleased to find that Noddy is also on board (no it’s not the cruise director!). There are children’s clubs for under 2s up to 17 years, a rock school; Cirque Ventura where families can participate in juggling, acro-balance, stilt walking and the trapeze; Scalextric at sea with Grand Prix-style track, 3D cinema, appearances by children’s character Noddy, interactive art classes, Oasis Spa, pools and gymnasium plus 11 places to eat (see below). Family shore programs feature aqua and theme parks.
