How this score is created
There are two restaurants, both non-smoking and with two seatings: Peninsula (located amidships), and Oriental (located aft). The galley is located between the two restaurants. Both are moderately handsome (each has tables for two, four, six or eight).
The meals are mostly of the unmemorable “Middle-England” variety, and the presentation generally lacks creativity. Curries are heavily featured, particularly on luncheon menus. Afternoon tea is disappointing. Note that the typical menu cycle is 14 days; anyone on a long voyage may find it quite repetitive.
The Conservatory is for casual self-serve breakfast and luncheon buffets, and 24-hour self-serve beverage stands (although the selection of teas is poor and it’s often hard to find teaspoons – only plastic stirrers are provided). On selected evenings, it becomes a reservation-only alternative restaurant, Le Bistro, with sit-down service, typically featuring French Bistro, Indian or Southeast Asian cuisine.
An Al Fresco Pizzeria serves pizza slices (these are bread-based and not made from pizza dough.
