Dear fellow sufferer: on no account wear black and preferably stick to white in the evenings. This combined with vit B tabs gave me 2 bite free cruises in malarial waters i.e Amazon and Panama Canal.
It ought to work for the Med too!

Hello, I use Jungle Juice repelent it does have a bit of an odour so I only use it when on land - Mozzies breed in stagnant water not salt water. I've found Piriton can reduce a bad itch/reaction but it makes me sleepy. Keeping arms & legs covered might help stop the the blighters.

DEAR LUCKER, WE DID OUR 1ST CRUISE AROUND THE MED LAST YEAR ABOARD THE OCEANA AND ENCOUNTERED NO MOSIQUITOS AT ANY POINT ON THE JOURNEY - WE EVEN OPTED FOR A BALCONY ROOM AND SPENT MOST EVENINGS AFTER THE NIGHTLY ENTERTAINMENT SITTING OUT ON IT - AND STILL NO MOZZIES!! A GOOD TIP FOR YOU IF YOU ARE PRONE, AND AS A DETERRENT IF YOU ARE REALLY BOTHERED IS TO USE THE SKIN SO SOFT SHOWER/BATH OIL AND SKIN SO SOFT DRY OIL BODY SPRAY WHICH CAN BE ORDERED FROM AVON (WWW.AVON.CO.UK) - IT WORKS A TREAT - I CAN REMEMBER READING THAT ONE OF THE PHOTOGRAPHERS WHO PHOTOGRAPHS THE TOP SUPERMODELS SWEARS BY IT WHEN THEY ARE IN HOT CLIMATES. TAKE A BOTTLE WITH YOU JUST IN CASE - AND MOST OF ALL ENJOY THE CRUISE - YOU'LL LOVE IT!! NICKI PROCTER

Stand next to me, that would solve your problem! I too am Xmas and Thanksgiving lunch to the little blighters. You do eventually get immunity to their bites, took me 4mths when I lived in South East Asia for a couple of years, but I lost it when I moved back to the UK. I swear by a combination of Vit B tablets[they don't like the effect vit B has on our sweat glands] Piriton and Boots 50% deet repellent. I suffer from eczema so have to be careful and this combination does seem to work. L/s shirts and longer pedal pushers at dusk helps too when there's more of the little s.ds around.

There's only one solution to this, and that's Avon's Skin So Soft range. Use the body spray, shower creams, whatever you like, but they all stop the mosquitos biting you to bits. The guys on the North Sea Oil Rigs all use these products, so if they work for them, they will work for you. A lot of my friends swear by these products - you can get them on-line or from a representative.

It was recommended to me to take vitimin B Complex obtained from Holland & Barrett a few weeks before going away, or Marmite, which is the same as B complex. Several people have told me this works as mossies do not like Marmite either.

You will not find mossies on board ship, they do not frequent sea water, but only still water. I know exactly how you feel, I get them all the time. I use a lemon and eucalyptus spray called Repel and it keeps them off, unfortunately this smell conflicts with any perfume that you might be wearing. It smells fresh, but it may reduce the effect that you want your perfume to create. Small price to pay to keep the buggers off. There is also a repellant that you can attach on your belt or anywhere on your body.
