Norwegian Dream

The ship offers 15 categories; almost all are on the lower five of the vessels’ ten decks. All portside cabins are nonsmoking; 34 cabins are equipped for the hearing-impaired, and 13 are wheelchair-accessible. In a departure from the usual midprice ships, 80% of cabins are outside with large windows; standard cabins are larger than average; all have a sitting area with table and sofa chair or love seat that converts to a third bed; a curtain separates sleeping and living areas. There are some trade-offs. Bathrooms are small, particularly the shower stall, and storage space is insufficient. Space around beds is tight, but separate sitting and sleeping areas compensate. Almost all cabins have twin beds that convert into a queen, television with CNN and ESPN, radio, telephone, and hair dryer. Passengers in International Deck cabins, added when the ships were lengthened, must access them through the Four Seasons Dining Room, which was expanded across the ship’s width. Otherwise, these passengers must detour up or down a deck. Owner’s Suites measure 336 square feet and accommodate up to five people. Located on the Sun Deck, each has a separate bedroom and living room with convertible double sofa, television, stereo system, refrigerator, and balcony. Bathrooms have a tub and shower and entrances from both hall and bedroom. Other top-category suites also have balconies; most have refrigerators and floor-to-ceiling windows. They’re served by an attentive concierge who provides complimentary amenities, including wine and hors d’oeuvres. Specifications 181 inside cabins, 695 outside; 12 Owner’s Suites; 6 penthouse suites with balcony; 62 balcony cabins. Standard outside dimensions, 160–176 square feet. Most cabins have 2 lower beds convertible to queen; some have third and fourth berths. 1 single; 13 wheelchair-accessible; 34 hearing-impaired.
