Hi just been on Norwegian jewel to Baltic. We found every port except St Petersberg has city tour buses just off the ship. Approx 15 euros. All day hop on hop off. Stockholm had a hop on ferry, good value. Helsinki was a bit expensive on the city tour 25 euros, use the local bus ,stop is just around the corner.ask the ships crew. Cloths are expensive .No bargains. Spring clothes would be suitable, plus a warm fleece or jacket. Hope these comments help.

Stockholm, visit the Vasa museum, refreshments availble at reasonable cost. Helsinki has excellent hop on hop off trams to get around. Stockmanns department store is worth a visit and has a coffee shop or similar on every floor. Tallin, get to the old town early to avoid the crowds. Gdynia, use the taxis to get into town and make the most of the shopping, crystal is excellent value. Warnemunde, lovely in nice weather, if it's raining go to Rostock. Copenhagen, lots to do, Bishop's Palace interesting, Tivoli a bit of a rip off in my opinion, but you've probably to go there once. It rains a lot in Copenhagen, take a mac, the river trip boats are mostly open to the weather. Have a good trip.

The ports will probably be pretty warm like an English summer, but just like the UK take a light coat and umbrella.

St Petersburg is one port where even the most ardent independent will opt for an organised tour, because of the difficulties, delays & costs of visas and the spoken/written language. You can choose a ship's tour or a local operator - Alla & Denrus are highly recommended. All St Pete's tours are expensive, but reviewers rate them excellent value. ............Most other Baltic ports can be done independently. ..........On the Cruise Answers page, in the blue Find A Question box, type in a port as keyword, dont change anything else in the box, & hit search. This will bring up many Q&A on the port. Do likewise using Alla or Denrus as the keyword.. Works with many other topics too .........Chris
