a QUESTION by Scott Vinke (23 Jun 09 05:49)
Is your daughter graduating from high school or college? My answer would depend on how old she is. If she's just graduated from high school, there's no way in the world I'd let her go, particularly to be with Los Paraguayos. Some men are not to be trusted!

My daughter is graduating from high school. I met with the Los Paraguayos, and they were very nice and caring men, they seemed to have really enjoyed Ashley's company and they said that if she worked a little harder, she could have great Spanish speaking abilities. She's 17 now, depending on when we can find a cruise departing, she may be 18, I just don't know what to say or do.

Most children work very hard at university and if they are lucky they get a job. Mine were at 2 of the 'top' universities in the world and worked like the clappers to get good degrees in 2 very hard subjects and on to perceived reasonable graduate jobs. They were sensible with their allowances, had very little time to go mad between sports and studies and came out with no debt. Luck? No, just caring parents and a work ethic that had to be seen to be believed.

Goodness me, this is an entirely personal decision. My son wouldn't have thanked you for a cruise as a grad. pressie but he certainly loved the car we bought him. Only you know your daughter. J
