I would advise you to visit the Practice Nurse at your Doctors. I did, and she went through every port that we were calling at to see what was neccessary, and compared it with what I'd already had before. Really helpful, and the injections that I needed were provided free on the NHS.

I agree with everything already posted on this subject. But I really would get some advice before travel. My reason for this that we have just returned from a cruise that included Brazil and more 40 passengers did not make it to the Cruise as they did not have a Valid Yellow Fever Certificate. They were stopped at their UK Depature Airport further checks at Barbados and on board when The Brazillian Authorities came on board and spent 3 days checking Documentation of all Passengers. From your question I doubt if vaccinations are necessary but please check I would hate you to miss your holiday like the 40 would be Cruisers that lost theirs and probably the cost of the Cruise for the sake of a £50 injection.

Try the Foreign Office website for up to date info on all akinds of things including vaccinations. Ignore the comments on norovirus and just maintain good personal hygiene. More people stay well on cruise ships that are ill. We have norovirus in school at the moment and out of about 2000 staff and students about 20 have been affected so far.

What you really need for a Fred.Olsen cruise is a Norovirus vaccination. Unfortunately there's not one so you'll just have to use soap and water on your hands frequently.

We did this cruise 2 years ago and didn't need Yellow Fever or Typhoid vaccinations. We needed them for the Amazon and FO advised us of this at the time of booking, advising that we wouldn't be allowed to sail without a Yellow Fever certificate. Check with fco.gov.uk who can provided up to date health information. Some requirements are advisory only.

I think you need to establish what are a statutory requirement for FO allowing you to travel against what is just purely recommended. Then make a decision on what course of action to take. As far as I am aware there are no COMPULSARY requirements for the Caribbean, but I cant answer you on Cuba.

Please check with your local pharmacist or Doctor as they will tell you what is needed. Most people on this site are not medically qualified to answer such a specific question.
