The second ship, Costa Serena, made her debut in May 2007 and the third, Costa Luminosa, will be launched in 2009.
Among Concordia’s special features are the Samsara Spa, which claims to be the largest spa at sea, extending over two decks with 55 cabins and 12 suites that come with special and exclusive privileges for passengers who reserve them. It also has the Ponte Francia pool deck—
spanning two decks and including two swimming pools with retractable glass roofs—making it the largest enclosable pool area on any cruise ship, according to Costa. The deck has a huge movie screen and a multilingual audio system for watching movies day and night. But the ship’s most unusual feature of all is the Grand Prix (Formula One) race car
simulator, identical to the cars in which real champions train. Race car aficionados can drive like the pros and even get a recording of their performance. Costa Serena will have these special features too.
