Not in the Atlantic but down under but it is not cheap the system involved piggy of systems that transmit internet data via satellite. I did use it for texting but never looked at the price drop on my phone but only used it on three ocassions. If you want to use it to keep in touch with family/friend on the ship then think about using a walkie talkie system seen them in use a lot particularly by our good friends the americans.
