This was our third cruise
on Silversea, our second
on Silver Wind after
seven years. We embarked
Cape Town for a ten night
cruise to Maputo in
Mozambique before
returning to Cape Town.
The itinerary around the
coast of South Africa was
very poor...
If it is a normal cruise,
then it is a fine
experience.
The Captain and
Expedition team work very
hard and we enjoy the
Antarctica very much!
Huge, pure, magnificent
icebergs, lovely
penguins, seals and
birds......
My wife and I have been
on a number of Silverseas
cruises and enjoyed them
all. Our most recent
trip was on Silver Cloud
from Puerto Rico to
Barbados. As usual the
accommodation was as
expected - we normally
have a midship verandah -
comfortable without...
Earlier this month we
boarded the Silver Cloud
in Barbados for a long
planned trip up the
Amazon.
As expected the ship is
looking a little tired,
it was due for a refit in
April 2012 but this has
been postponed until Oct
2012...
We embarked Silver
Cloud in Lisbon (BA
flights from Newcastle
via Heathrow without any
problems) and sailed via
Morocco (Casablanca,
Agadir), the Canaries
Isles (Lanzarote,
Tenerife) and the
Caribbean islands of
Antigua, Dominica, St
Lucia and finally...
This was our first trip
with Silversea and we
will definitely use this
line again. The staff
were welcoming and went
out of their way to learn
guests' names even if
they encountered them
intemittently. We got the
impression that there was
much repeat business...
Silversea try so hard to
give the best service and
in many respects they do
succeed - but not in all
respects.
The good aspects included
staff getting just the
right balance between
warmth and familiarity;
going out of their way to
meet special requests;
and...
We back to Silverseas
after a gap of 5 years to
check if the quality was
as good as previously.
On arriving in Barbados
we were greeted by a very
pleasant lady who
organised a car to
transfer to the ship
which was very good...
This was my second
experience of Silversea
service although my first
was only 2 nights so
didn't really count. This
cruise was a chance for
me Mum, Dad and my sister
to go on holiday together
for the first time since
we all moved out of home
and it was...
