Babies & Tots On Board


Thinking about taking your baby on a cruise? You're not alone - lots of families with young babies/tots cruise quite successfully. The key is to get clued up, and plan as far ahead as possible. With this in mind, we've put together a few pointers, that will (hopefully!) help you make an informed choice about who will best cater for your baby's needs.

Not supplied, but shops on board do sell nappies, wipes and lotions.

Strollers/bouncy chairs can be rented: $25/week or $6/day on 3/4-night voyages.
Camp Carnival offers finger painting to cartoon time, arts and crafts to puppet shows. Toddlers do not have to be potty-trained.
Group babysitting

The Kings Court restaurant will blend food upon request.

Onboard nurseries are stocked with everything from Fisher-Price Little People to toys by Little Tikes and Lamaze. Queen Mary 2 has a “Minnows” pool for families, plus a splash pool for smaller children.

bottle warmers, sterilisers, baby bath.
There are playrooms, packed with ballpools, softplay, toys, games, books and crafts.
Under-2’s must be accompanied by a parent. Plus Noddy & Mr. Bump entertain the kids.

A cabin listening service is also available.
Princess Cruises

Passengers are advised to take their own nappies and wipes.
Highchairs and cots are available upon request.
Any other equipment must be brought on board by parents.
Babies/tots can play with the toys in the youth room as long as they are supervised by a parent/guardian. Princess Youth counsellors will not change nappies.

3-12yrs only
Charge: $5/hour.
Royal Caribbean
6 months + on most sailings
12 months + Trans-ocean crossings, South America and Trans-pacific and all cruises that have 3 or more consecutive days at sea.

Nappies/wipes are not sold on board but can be pre-ordered.
Highchairs and cots are available upon request.
Interactive playgroup sessions developed by Fisher-Price, 45-minute session, held in a onboard lounge. Stroller Mates Workout, Musical Inspiration, Baby Gymnastics, Cookin’ Up Fun.
Group babysitting
8am—2am.
Charge: $10/hour.
Private babysitting is also available.
