Why do all cruise insurance companies only cover cancellation up to £5000 when the cost of the cruise is many many times that per person?
The idea of insurance is that it covers inexpected events please reply on freya33bty@hotmail.com

I have received a quote from yourselves but the cancellation limit per person is less than we need.
We are intent on a 94 day world cruise with P&O, starting in January 2010. The cost of the cheapest cabin is close to £10,000 per person so the insurance quoted puts at at great risk if we had to cancel at short notice after paying the balance of the holiday.
Is there any way my wife an I can cover ourselves for the full cancellation cost of the cruise (approx £10,000 each?

Thanks for speaking to me the other day regarding the insurance issues. Following your advice, I contacted my bank and through my private account with them, I managed to obtain insurance for 96 days and £11,000 cancellation sum for a premium of £250!
...So, I owe you a drink, well lets make that a bottle! See you on board hopefully.

AllClear Travel Insurance is really good for people with disabilities and those with pre-existing medical conditions. They cover any age and any medical condition and they do the medical questions on the same phone call as the quote. They have a cruise policy which even covers mobility aids including electric wheelchairs on board ship. Give them a try at www.AllCleartravel.co.uk. or call them on 08712 088 500

I heartily endorse this - after receiving a sky-high quote from 1stoptravel, via a very long phone call, I tried AllClear. It was all done online, and the quote was just over one-third of the 1stoptravel one. Many thanks!
