My day out with Emirates…..

Just before Christmas I was invited to Birmingham Airport to take a look around Emirates Airbus 380 while she was doing her very quick turnaround from landing to take off.

It seems each time the airbus lands at Birmingham it brings lots of joy and excitement!  Our first sighting was just after 11 when we saw her circling the skies waiting for her landing slot, the view from the conference room  was great and she came into land right in front of us!  I must admit I am definitely not a plane spotter but she is very impressive and I did get a bit excited watching her land.  She is the Queen of the airport and overshadows all the other aircrafts around her.

The Airbus 380 is a 2 class service, she doesn’t have first class so we didn’t get to see Jennifer Aniston in the bar or having a shower.  The lower level has a section of Economy and also the front of the upper deck is economy but these seats are more like premium  economy.   I would definitely recommend pre booking the upper deck in Economy if you can.  Business Class is towards the rear of the upper deck.  There is a lovely bar area where you can stretch your legs and have a glass of bubbly (or whatever you want).  All seats are supplied with pillows and blankets, all brand new and of course a little more luxurious in Business Class!

After our quick whistle tour of the aircraft we were then taken down to Emirates Business Class lounge where we had lunch.  Everything is complimentary, including a wide selection of champagnes, starters, mains and a delicious dessert menus.  Emirates really do make you feel welcome.

I really did have a great day and  – thank you Emirates!
