Summer in Kent

Summer holidays have finally arrived, time for 6 weeks of fun with my 3 lovely girls and hubby is finally here. I have lived in Kent for 32 years and I am probably Biased but as a county it really does have so much to offer, maybe you could keep these in mind for your next cruise departure from Dover to extend your trip.

Here are just a couple of place you can enjoy.

Leeds Castle

With 500 acres of beautiful parkland and formal gardens, daily events and year round attractions, it’s not just the glorious history of Leeds Castle that will ensure you want to come back time and again. Attractions Include  flying displays starring an array of different birds of prey from Owls to Hawks and Falcons to Eagles.

The Knight of the Relm playground  where Children can let off steam through a scale model of the castle, with opportunities to climb the Maiden’s Tower, scale the Revetment Wall, joust along an aerial runway.

Segway Fun, With 500 acres of parkland you can take in the beautiful castle on a very unique Segway tour.

Wingham Wildlife Park

A big favourite of my kiddies, there collection of  Big Cats, Reptiles, Penguins, various Primates and much more is always a winner. Open year round, Wingham offer a close up look at some beautiful creature. With petting sessions in the Farm area and workshops with reptiles (which I think I will leave to my children )

Beautiful Beaches

Kent is famous for beautiful costal lines, From Whistable, Minis bay, to Margate as far as Camber sands. I hoping the weather is nice over the next few weeks for a seaside trip, fish and chips and penny machines in the arcades.

The Historic dockyard.

The most local family attraction to me is the Historic Dockyard. Just a short 5 minute drive. Chatham Dockyards was home to the Royal Navy until 1984  when it closed and was divided in a number of sections now opened to the public, home to the MS Gannet, Cavalier and Ocelot. This is a fascinating day trip for any shipping enthusiast.

So how will you be spending your summer? If you have any hidden treasures in Kent I may be interested in pelase let me know you ideas………………
